Ultrasound Screenings for Vascular Disease at Radiology Regional

Radiology Regional offers three types of ultrasound screenings to help detect vascular disease.

When it comes to vascular disease, most symptoms don’t show up until a potentially life-threatening situation – like an aneurysm – occurs. If you have more than one of the following risk factors, an ultrasound screening may be beneficial for you:

  • Age 55+
  • Diabetes
  • High cholesterol
  • High blood pressure
  • Current or history of using nicotine products
  • Overweight and/or an inactive lifestyle
  • Family history of cardiovascular disease or aneurysms

vascular ultrasound

Ultrasound Screening Carotid

This scan assesses blockage of the carotid arteries using B-mode and doppler technology. Assessment includes plaque formation, aneurysm, and blood flow.

Ultrasound Screening AAA

This provides an assessment of the aortic artery for abdominal aneurysms and plaque formations within the artery.

Ultrasound Screening ABI

This scan measures the bilateral pressures of the arms and legs to assess for peripheral arterial disease (PAD).

Ultrasound screenings for vascular diseases may be covered by some insurance carriers and does require an order from your healthcare provider for exam coverage. Self-pay patients do not require an order from a healthcare provider.
