Prostate MRI is the most precise imaging method for the detection of suspected prostate cancer. At Radiology Regional, we’re proud to offer advanced 3T multiparametric MRI. The strongest 3T magnets are available at a majority of our imaging centers, providing excellent, highly detailed images for a confident diagnosis.

This novel imaging technique is changing the way we detect and localize prostate cancer in men. Using fast imaging techniques and computer aided detection software, Multiparametric 3T MRI shows high sensitivity (90% and greater) for aggressive prostate cancers (Gleason score, 7-10).

Florida Prostate MRI

A doctor may recommend MRI of the prostate for the following indications:

  • Abnormal laboratory tests (elevated PSA, elevated PCA3) or family history of prostate cancer
  • Abnormal digital rectal exam or trans rectal ultrasound
  • A previous negative trans rectal ultrasound guided biopsy with persistent abnormal laboratory tests (elevated PSA, elevated PCA3, low free PSA, etc.)
  • Low grade prostate cancer, in an “Active Surveillance” program
  • Recently diagnosed prostate cancer in need of preoperative staging
  • Post surgery or radiation for prostate cancer with suspicious findings for local recurrence of prostate cancer
