What is the Mobile Mammo Coach?
The Mobile Mammo Coach is a customized, mobile breast-imaging clinic, bringing the latest technology in digital mammography directly to you. Convenience, state of the art technology, and exceptional quality are the reasons why women choose our service.
Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are recommended. Call (239) 936-4068 to schedule. Walk-ins are accepted subject to availibility.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring the name and address of your primary care physician, your medical insurance card and a picture ID. If you do not have a physician we can assist in obtaining one for you. See "Patient Prep" for additional information about preparing for your appointment.
What should I expect at my appointment?
The appointment will take approximately 20 minutes. After entering the mobile coach through the reception area, you will be asked to sign some forms verifying that your information is accurate and provide to us your insurance card and photo id. You will then proceed to a private dressing room adjacent to the mammography suite where a brief history is taken before your exam. You will be given a gown and asked to undress from the waist up. The technologist will take two routine views of each breast. Following the mammogram, you will have an opportunity to ask questions. Should the results of the mammogram be abnormal, you may receive a phone call from our staff to discuss follow up care.
Do I need an order from my personal physician?
No prescription is necessary for a screening mammogram.
What if I had my last mammogram at a facility other than Radiology Regional Center?
We strongly encourage participants to contact the provider of their last mammogram if done outside of this area to help facilitate comparison interpretation. It is not necessary to contact facilities in Lee and Collier counties that provided the prior exam; Radiology Regional Center will obtain local images and maintain a permanent digital record of your studies at our facility. Medical record releases are available to download from radiologyregional.com should one be required for the out-of-area area provider.
Who will read my results? How will I get my results?
Local board-certified radiologists from Radiology Regional Center will read and interpret all the mammograms performed on the mobile coach. Patients will receive their mammogram results via email through the on-line patient portal or by US mail from Radiology Regional Center. Please follow all instructions documented in your result letter. Our staff may contact you if the radiologist recommends additional evaluation that may consist of additional imaging, and/or comparison studies. Your physician will receive a written report within 7 to 10 days of your exam date. If you do not have a physician, you may choose one from our list of providers in the event that you might need follow-up care. Your report will be expedited if prior mammography studies are readily available.
How do I pay for my exam?
Radiology Regional Center is a contracted provider with most health insurance carriers and we will file all claims on your behalf. Co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance payments are expected at the time of service. A discounted price of $150.00 is offered to self-pay patients. Cash, check, Visa, Master Card, and Discover Card payments are accepted.
